Driving PA Forward Initiative Grants Available
August 22nd, 2025The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) announced the availability of $23 million in grants for the 2023–2024 Pennsylvania Freight Innovations in Transportation (PA-FIT) Grant Program, funded by the Volkswagen Group settlement and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
The grants are intended to support projects that reduce emissions from diesel-powered vehicles, engines, and equipment through replacement or retrofits with cleaner technologies.
Eligible projects include freight and goods movement equipment, alternative fuel and electric vehicles, shore power at ports, and similar emission-reducing technologies. Projects must demonstrate measurable emission reductions.
Applications are submitted electronically through the Commonwealth’s eGrants system at egrants.pa.gov. and must be received by November 14, 2025.
